Ahora, Blackwell ha comisariado una serie de recopilaciones de LP, con sus pistas cuidadosamente seleccionadas que se corresponden con su legendaria historia y la de Island.
El 26 de febrero, Island Records / UMe lanzará el Volumen Uno de The Vinyl Series, un álbum de 14 pistas que cubre los años 1962 a 1969. Los Volúmenes Dos y Tres seguirán este año y explorarán la historia de Island en las décadas siguientes. Disponible exclusivamente en uDiscover y The Sound of Vinyl, cada uno se venderá por separado, así como un paquete con un precio de descuento para los tres.
El primer volumen de The Vinyl Series incluye éxitos tan innovadores como "My Boy Lollipop" de Millie Small e "Israelites" de Desmond Dekker and the Aces, canciones que introdujeron en gran parte del mundo el sonido de la música jamaicana. El contexto de estos sencillos lo establecen varios de los primeros sencillos de Toots and the Maytalls y "Forward March" de un adolescente Derrick Morgan, la "primera estrella del ska".
